I'm open to any job opportunities related to product design now! Interesting and challenging projects bring me new energy! Let me know if there is anything I can help 🙌.

A little bit about me

My name is Yongwen Dai, a recent Carnegie Mellon University graduate transitioning from architecture to product design. This shift reflects my commitment to enhancing accessibility, not just in physical spaces but now within the digital realm as well. I'm driven by a passion to simplify life for everyone, particularly those facing disadvantages, finding motivation in the unique challenges and constraints of design.

Beyond my professional pursuits, I'm also skilled in painting👩‍🎨, swimming🏊‍♀️, cooking👩‍🍳, and reading tarots🔮, embracing new hobbies to broaden my understanding of the world. Originally from China, my family and I are proud owners of a beloved dog. She's more than a pet; she's a cherished companion for my parents in my absence. Despite the distance, she remains close to my heart.❤️🐻

Design Philosophy

Empathetic Design: Bridging Utility and Emotion

I prioritize empathetic design, focusing on uncovering users' true needs beyond superficial demands. My goal is to create products that are not just easy and intuitive to use but also emotionally engaging, building trust and fostering user loyalty. This approach aims to enrich users' experiences, making the product an integral and cherished part of their lives.

Mutual Benefits: Balancing Business Goals with User Needs

I aim to balance user satisfaction and business growth by aligning product design with strategic goals. This approach ensures our products are sustainable, meet user needs, and enhance our market position through informed, strategic design decisions that benefit both users and the company.

Openness to Change: Embracing Flexibility and Adaptability

My design philosophy centers on adaptability, embracing change to stay ahead in the rapidly evolving digital world. Recognizing that design must evolve with new technologies, user feedback, and trends, I champion a flexible, iterative process focused on continuous improvement. This approach keeps my designs relevant, innovative, and prepared to meet future user needs.
